Eleanor | Piano

What kind of music (songs or exercises) does Eleanor enjoy playing and why?

Any song by ABBA because my favourite movie is Mamma Mia. I already know how to play Thank You For the Music and Money, Money, Money, which I had to learn for my exams.

What is Eleanor's favourite piece that she has learnt, and why?

Money, money, money because I like ABBA’s music and I like money!

What does Eleanor find are the easiest and hardest things about learning piano?

What I find the easiest is performing, because I like having an audience.  I usually perform one or two pieces at the semester recitals, and me and my brother often are the MC’s which is very fun.

The hardest thing about learning piano is when I first start to learn a new piece. There are so many things to learn all at once, like the notes, fingering and rhythms!

What is Eleanor's favourite thing about her piano lessons?

Eliza is funny and helps me learn new pieces of music.

What are some goals that Eleanor is currently working on?

Last year I did my grade 2 Piano for Leisure exam, so this year I am working on grade 3. As I do the comprehensive exams, I have to prepare three pieces, learn a number of scales and exercises, know some theory about all my pieces. The exam also has listening questions like clapping back melodies and things.

What is Eleanor's proudest moment or achievement as a pianist?

When I passed my first piano exam. I was so nervous and scared for my first exam but it showed me I can do it!

Well done Eleanor, we can’t wait to hear you play more ABBA in the future!
