About
Our story
We are a music academy in Joondalup specialising in harp, piano and guitar. We teach children, teenagers and adults.
We believe that by upholding high standards in the delivery of music lessons and having high expectations of our students, students come to find satisfaction and fulfilment in being the best they can be. This attitude and seeking of excellence is something they can then bring to any areas of their lives to become better and more successful human beings.
Hi, I’m Eliza, founder of Music Makers Academy.
I have done music all my life and it’s only as an adult that I have come to realise the many great life lessons I learned from doing music. The most important has been the constant pursuit of improvement and of excellence.
The pursuit of excellence isn’t always fun. We often have to spend a lot of time at something before we get good. We have to be persistent in pursuing the goal. We have to continue caring about an outcome even when it feels unreachable.
But the return on this effort is unsurpassed. When we finally achieve this goal, when we know that we are performing at our very best - that gives us something to be proud of. There is something about us we can like and value. We develop inner pride and an unshakeable sense of self-esteem. In short, the pursuit of excellence leads us to joy.

Nathaniel has been playing guitar for 9 years. Although he originally learned classical, he also enjoys playing a variety of styles, with a particular interest in fingerstyle, and rock. Learning guitar sparked his love for music, and has taken him far into the realms of composition, arranging, and audio production. Nathaniel originally had been playing the ukulele and after seeing his dad play guitar so much, decided to pick it up in primary school, and not a day goes by he doesn’t regret that decision.
