Little Maestro Method
3-5 years old
Music time for curious little minds
Is your 3–5 year old always tapping, singing, or dancing their way through the day?
And you’re wondering if it’s time to gently nurture that spark, without turning it into pressure or one more thing to fight over at home?
The Little Maestro Method at Music Makers Academy is a 10-week small group music program designed especially for young children who are full of curiosity and ready to explore sound, rhythm, and creativity in a relaxed, age-appropriate way.
In each playful, purposeful class, your child will:
Keep a steady beat with their whole body
Begin to match pitch through simple songs
Build listening and memory skills
Explore musical patterns, stories, and expression
Everything is taught through movement, singing, simple instruments, and imaginative play, so children feel like they are “just having fun”, even while they are quietly building the foundations that will make future private lessons feel natural and enjoyable.
You might see them:
Pretending to tiptoe like mice or soar like birds to a violin tune
Playing percussion with new friends
Listening for high and low sounds, fast and slow patterns
Taking small, supported steps to share their music with the group
Behind the scenes, there is clear structure and a gentle progression, so your child feels safe, supported, and proud of what they can do, without any pressure to be perfect.
The Little Maestro Method is for families who want music to be something their child loves, not another battle over practice or attendance. It offers your child:
Confidence in trying new things
A calm space to express big feelings through music
A joyful first step into the world of music that can grow with them over time
If you’d like your child’s first experience of music to feel joyful, relaxed, and truly supportive, the Little Maestro Method is a beautiful place to begin.
Our 5-Step Method
Step 1: Discover the Beat
Builds their coordination and motor movements so they are more agile at kindy! Kids explore rhythm through clapping, tapping, and fun games to build confidence and coordination.
Step 2: Pitch Perfect Play
Develops their ear so that they can become creative and use their singing voice to express themselves. Introduce pitch recognition and basic singing exercises, making it playful and engaging.
Step 3: Move to the Music
Builds their coordination, self-expression and creativity. Teach movement patterns to songs, helping students connect physically to the music while improving coordination and rhythm.
Step 4: Create & Compose
Builds their creativity, confidence and self-expression by encouraging them to compose their own short songs. Encourage kids to create their own short songs, blending creativity with their new skills.
Step 5: Final performance
Builds their confidence by celebrating their growth and acquired skills. Celebrate their growth with a final performance, where they can sing, move, and showcase their creations.

Nathaniel - Guitar tutor
Nathaniel has been playing guitar for 9 years. Although he originally learned classical, he also enjoys playing a variety of styles, with a particular interest in fingerstyle, and rock. Learning guitar sparked his love for music, and has taken him far into the realms of composition, arranging, and audio production. Nathaniel originally had been playing the ukulele and after seeing his dad play guitar so much, decided to pick it up in primary school, and not a day goes by he doesn’t regret that decision.
