Music Makers Academy Joondalup News: August Busking, Studio Anniversary and Term Dates
We have plenty happening at Music Makers Academy as we wrap up Term 3 and celebrate an important studio milestone.
August Busking Opportunity
Our students are invited to perform at our upcoming busking opportunity:
Date: Sunday, 30 August
Time: Between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM
Location: Near Lake Butler Lookout
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to practise performing in a relaxed community setting and share what they have been learning.
Celebrating Two Years in Joondalup
On 1 September, we’re celebrating two years since Music Makers Academy moved into our Joondalup studio.
The journey began in 2016, when Eliza started tutoring harp and piano after graduating from university with no intention of ever running a music school.
From 2016 to 2021, her student community continued to grow. In 2021, Eliza and Darryn, who teaches guitar, decided to work together under one business name, and Elda Music Studios was born.
In 2022, Eliza made the decision to build a music school that could offer lessons across multiple instruments, employ a team of teachers and eventually operate from a commercial location. By the end of that year, she was teaching close to 50 students.
In 2023, the school became Music Makers Academy. Nathaniel joined as our first employee, followed by another piano tutor, while lessons continued from a private residence.
In 2024, we reached a major milestone and opened our first commercial studio in Joondalup.
Since then, we have introduced violin lessons, welcomed more students and teachers, and launched the Little Maestro Method for children aged three to five.
Thank you to every student, parent and teacher who has been part of our story. We’re proud of how far the school has come and excited about what’s ahead.
Joondalup Business Awards Finalist
We are also proud to be named a finalist in the Joondalup Business Awards for the third year.
This recognition means a great deal to our team. It reflects the continued support of our students, families and local community as Music Makers Academy continues to grow in Joondalup.
