Our new annual calendar!

We are thrilled to announce our new annual calendar for 2024! A mixture of challenges, workshops, performances and events are lined up for the year ahead to bring variety and excitement to the learning experience and keep students motivated and engaged.

Bring it on!

In February, we have a practice challenge. Every day of the week, all students will log online for a 15min call during which the teacher will demonstrate a specific practice strategy. Practise your piece using the strategy and record your practice time on the worksheet. We will have prizes for students who practise the most, engage the most, and who have improved the most!

In March, we will be hosting workshops. These will be group classes taught face-to-face. We will be offering workshops of various themes including rhythm workshops, recording workshops, singing workshops. Come along to learn new skills and make friends with the other students!

In April, we will have recording sessions. Over the first three months of the year, students will have been working with their tutor to compose their own arrangement or piece of music. So in April, it is time to record your own music! We will have a videographer film and record your piece of music. Who knows, you could become the next music Youtube sensation!

In May, there will be masterclasses. Students will gather in groups. Each student will be required to perform in front of the others, then work with the teacher. Students will also be invited to give feedback and criticism to the performing students. Learn to analyse and reflect on performances, and learn instrumental skills in the process … all while making friends!

The end of semester concert will be in June. Everybody will gather for the concert and all students will be required to perform in front of everybody. You get to choose whether you want to perform your original piece of music or a piece you have learned over the last few months!

The second half of the year will follow the same structure as the first, with a practice challenge in July, workshops in August, recordings in September, masterclasses in October and the concert in November.

We hope this calendar will help students explore their potential, bring them together and inspire them to continue on creating music!
