Practice Challenge winners

Last month we hosted our Practice Challenge. For 6 consecutive days, students had to attend online calls to learn a new strategy for their instrumental practice. The aims of the challenge were for students to learn strategies that they use going forward as they learn pieces, and for them to develop a consistent practice routine.

Day 1: How to set a SMART practice goal + strategy for learning rhythm

Day 2: strategy for learning hands separately

Day 3: strategy for learning hands together

Day 4: metronome practise strategy to play with consistent tempo

Day 5: strategy to improve phrasing, articulation and dynamics

Day 6: memorisation strategy

Of course, the best aspect of the challenge was probably the prizes. We had three $20 gift vouchers to hand out for various prize categories. Congratulations to the winners of our 2024 Practice Challenge!

For the Most Improved Student - to win this prize, students had to film and send us a video of their playing at the start and end of the practice week
