Semester 1 Recital

What a glorious afternoon our tutors and about a dozen students had at our semester 1 student recital! We gathered on Sunday 25th of June at the state-of-the-art Ruth Rodgers Room at St George’s College and listened to about 16 different musical items performed by our students. Well done to all who got up on stage to perform and thank you to all friends and families who came to support!

First up we had our piano students. Elysia started the whole show with a musical rendition of Rondino. Cass (pictured here) then played Labynrinth with flair and energy. Estelle then performed an flowing and rhythmic Invention in C major by JS Bach. Finally, Cillian played The Cancan!

After the piano performances, we were treated to harp music. Three of our adult students played together in an ensemble to perform Water Sprites, a gentle flowing piece. This was followed by Ella performing Meadowlark, Tracey playing Amazing Grace, and Meg playing Sailing on a Lake.

Then we heard the younger students. Avalea performed Ay Chapenacas Ay Ay, then her younger sister Miadora played Elfin Dance. We were lucky to hear Beauty and the Beast performed by these two sisters who had dressed specifically for this song!

This performance was followed by a musical and flawless Barn Dance Memory played by Evangeline. After this we heard El Numero Uno, performed confidently by Helena, and Reverie played by Estelle, both students who will be completing their grade 3 harp exams over the holidays.

The final performance of the afternoon was by Matthew and his teacher Darryn who played Superfragi …. which was a fun and light-hearted way of closing our concert!

Well done everybody!

We also wish to extend our thanks to St George’s College for their support!
