We are hiring!

Music Makers Academy has been steadily growing these last 12 months and we are wanting to expand our team to take on the students we currently have to put on our waiting list.

Specifically, we are looking for a piano teacher (advantage if you can teach guitar!) who would be available to teach on a Tuesday and/or Friday afternoon from our studio in Hillarys.

As a pianist, you are highly skilled, have a thorough understanding of piano technique, be interested in and be able to teach multiple styles (we focus mainly on classical and pop), are familiar with the AMEB syllabus and have basic skills in improvisation. Demonstrated grade 8 playing level required.

As a person, you are highly organised, reliable, patient, with excellent “people skills” (empathetic and understanding). You must be able to relate easily with people of all ages and be able to explain concepts in ways that are easy to understand.

Other than teaching students 1:1 on a weekly basis, your responsibilities will include marking attendance, sending homework notes via our online admin portal; attending events and preparing students for performances; attending parent-teacher calls as required; and writing reports every semester.

This role will likely grow into more hours as we restructure our business in the next 1-2 years.

We have worked alongside a HR Consultant to develop this position and we offer a competitive pay rate for the right candidate. Furthermore, we will pay 11% super as per the legal obligations.
