Estelle | Piano

Estelle’s focus during lessons and the commitment she shows to her practice means she has made excellent progress on not just one, not even two, but three instruments! We have a little chat about her musical journey so far …

What kind of music (songs or exercises) do you enjoy playing on the piano

and why?

I enjoy playing classical music because it sounds interesting and calm.

What made you start learning the piano and what do you enjoy about playing it?

I started learning the piano because my mum encouraged and wanted me to play it and I enjoy learning new songs and techniques.

What do you find are the easiest and hardest things about learning piano?

The easiest thing is probably playing the right notes and the hardest thing is to play with different dynamics.

What is your favourite thing about piano lessons?

My favourite thing is that it is always fun and creative. I also enjoy making progress on my pieces.

What are some goals or pieces that you are currently working on?

I am currently working on completing my piano grade 5 exam this year.

What is your proudest moment or achievement as a pianist?

My proudest moments are when I pass the AMEB piano exam and moving on to the next level.

You recently started at Churchlands SHS in the music program. What did you have to prepare for the audition?

I had to practise every day to get better and be confident in front of people.

Between all the instruments you know how to play (piano, harp and guitar),

which one is your favourite?

My favourite instrument is the harp because it sounds wonderful, elegant and it is unique.

Well done Estelle on your numerous achievements so far! Keep up the great work!
