Guitar lessons Joondalup

4-8 year olds

Learn to rock’n’roll!

The guitar is such a versatile and approachable instrument for children. After learning a few basic chords, children can accompany themselves and make up their own songs!

Children between the ages of 4-8yo are able to learn guitar through our PocoMuso program. Guitar lessons may be private or in groups. There are various events throughout the year for students to learn new skills, make new friends and build confidence.

Our teachers are some of the friendliest, warmest and most patient people you will ever meet, who have a real knack at building rapport with kids.

We use a lot of games during our lessons so that learning feels like play!

Our guitar teachers

  • Amado Guerra

Amado Guerra is guitar tutor with over 14 years of experience teaching both children and adults. Amado has been involved in heavy metal and traditional Latin American music projects and has extensive experience in genres such as Rock, Classical, Blues, and Heavy Metal. His pedagogical approach focuses on tailoring lessons to the individual needs of each student, using innovative methods to foster a positive and collaborative learning environment. He is committed to developing his students’ technical, theoretical, and auditory skills while encouraging their creativity and personal expression through the guitar.

  • Nathaniel Walker

Nathaniel has been playing guitar for 9 years. Although he originally learned classical, he also enjoys playing a variety of styles, with a particular interest in fingerstyle, and rock. Learning guitar sparked his love for music, and has taken him far into the realms of composition, arranging, and audio production. Nathaniel originally had been playing the ukulele and after seeing his dad play guitar so much, decided to pick it up in primary school, and not a day goes by he doesn’t regret that decision.

What families are saying

 FAQs

  • We can take students as young as 4 years old (but not any younger). However, acceptance into our program also relies on the child's and parents’ readiness, which is usually assessed by a tutor during your interview.

  • Payments are made online via direct debit on the 1st of each month for the duration of 12 months.

  • We do not allow students to take exams for the first 2 years of their training. This is so that we can focus on a more holistic approach to music education and make sure that exams are not the entire purpose behind music lessons.

  • Yes, it is crucial to have an instrument at home before starting lessons. We can provide you with recommendations depending on which type of guitar your child will be learning.

  • If you are unable to attend a lesson, your tutor will film a video lesson for you, which you will receive within 48hrs.
